If you’re pumping at work, this setup makes it dramatically easier.
After a lot of trial and error, this is what actually worked.
Ardo Melia Hands-Free Pump
My favorite truly hands-free option. Quiet, portable, and no tubes hanging everywhere. Amazing output! On par with plug in pumps.

(Also check with your insurance to see if you can get it covered in full!)
Spectra Pump + Medela Hands-Free Cups (with adapter)
If you already have a Spectra, skip flanges completely.
Use Medela hands-free cups + the adapter piece. Total game changer.

Ceres Chiller
The key: fill the inner core 2/3 full with water and freeze it overnight. This will keep your milk cold all day & even all night if you forget to bag it!

Dawn Powerwash Spray
Take it to the sink at work: spray, scrub, wash, then dry with an absorbent towel. Doesn’t replace steam sanitizing, but it’s quick, effective, and keeps parts clean during the day.

Absorbent Towel
For drips, spills, and protecting whatever desk or surface you’re using.

Rubber Tote
Keep everything in one grab-and-go container so you’re not juggling pump parts, spray, towels, and bottles. Easy to wipe down if milk spills!

STORY TIME!
I don’t know about you, but holding milk flanges? Ain’t it.
After my first kid, I got the Medela hands-free pump and cups. The pump settings were either too light or way too strong — but I loved the cups! Easy to assemble, easy to clean.
When I tried using my Blue Spectra S1 Plus with the flanges, I could not stand it. I kept thinking… this would be amazing if the hands-free cups could attach to the Spectra!
Enter my engineering husband. A little finagling later, and wah-la — my cups attached to the Spectra. I loved this setup so much that I got another Spectra for work. You can even buy the Medela cups separately on Amazon and get adapters to attach the tubing — total game changer.
I pump during meetings sometimes, and it’s easy to see when I’m done because the pump sits in my lap. Usually, no one even notices, and the battery life is super long. Funny side story – my male boss asked a female coworker why I always carry my “lunch box” with me. When I saw him next, I told him that it’s my baby’s lunch box, not mine!

After my second baby, I switched to the Ardo Melia hands-free pumps, and honestly, these are solid. Made of silicone and super comfortable, I can pump 4–5 oz per side in 8–10 minutes. Only downside: you have to charge them separately, so it’s one more thing to keep track of at work. I wouldn’t use these during in-person meetings, but they’re perfect at your desk or during your commute!
Once I’m done pumping, I take my caddy (Ceres Chiller, Powerwash spray, and towel) to the bathroom. In just a couple of minutes, I dump the milk into the chiller, clean my parts, and I’m on my way!
Working, pumping, and momming isn’t easy — let my tips make at least one part of your day a little easier!
